·熱噴涂系列過程：以某種熱源將噴涂材料（線材或粉材）加熱，受熱的材料形成熔融或半熔融狀態(tài)的微粒，這些微粒以壓縮空氣為動(dòng)力以一定的速度沖擊并沉積在基體表面上，形成具有一定特性的噴涂層。

·以提供熱源的不同，可分為燃燒法和電熱法。前者包括燃燒火焰噴涂、爆炸噴涂及高速火焰噴涂（HVOF）；后者包括電弧噴涂及等離子噴涂（又分常壓等離子噴涂與水穩(wěn)等離子噴涂）。噴涂工藝對(duì)涂層產(chǎn)生重要影響的是噴涂溫度（嚴(yán)格的說，是溶滴沖擊基體表面時(shí)的溫度）和溶滴沖擊表面的速度。

◆涂層功能  Coating function

依據(jù)美國F.N.LONGO對(duì)熱噴涂涂層的分類方法，涂層按功能可分為：

1、耐磨損涂層。包括抗粘著磨損、表面疲勞磨損涂層和耐沖濁涂層。其中有些情況還有抗低溫（< 538C）磨損和抗高溫（538～843C）磨損涂層之分。

2、耐熱抗氧化涂層。該種涂層包括高溫過程（其中有氧化氣氛、腐蝕性氣體、高于843℃的沖蝕及熱障）和熔融金屬過程（其中有熔融鋅、熔融鋁、熔融鐵和鋼、熔融銅）所應(yīng)用的涂層。

3、抗大氣和浸漬腐蝕涂層。大氣腐蝕包括工業(yè)氣氛、鹽性氣氛、田野氣氛等造成的腐蝕；浸漬腐蝕包括飲用淡水、非飲用淡水、熱淡水、鹽水、化學(xué)和食品加工等造成的腐蝕。

4、電導(dǎo)和電阻涂層。該種涂層用于電導(dǎo)、電阻和屏蔽。

5、恢復(fù)尺寸涂層。該種涂層用于鐵基（可切削與可磨削的碳鋼和耐蝕鋼）和有色金屬（鎳、鈷、銅、鋁、鈦及他們的合金）制品。

6、機(jī)械部件間隙控制涂層。該種涂層可磨。
